With the CodeCollaborator Mylyn Connector, CodeCollaborator code reviews appear as tasks in the task list. Action Items are represented by incoming notifications on the corresponding task. The task list is intended to replace the Action Items View, so you will probably want to close the Action Items View.
The incoming and outgoing status works a little differently for code reviews than for other tasks. First, the only time a code review will have an outgoing status is when you have created it but not yet submitted it to the CodeCollaborator server. Second, a review will have an incoming status as long there is an action item for that review; opening the review does not clear the incoming status. This way, you can easily tell which reviews have action items, just by looking at the task list. Moving the mouse over a review in the task list displays any action items for that review in a tooltip.
When opening a code review, the SmartBear CodeCollaborator features for performing the review are accessible from the Review tab of the task editor. The Tasktop tab contains time tracking information, a private notes section, and a shared Links section for keeping track of tasks and web pages related to the review.
When you activate a code review, you will be prompted to switch to the CodeCollaborator perspective which contains the conversations view. You may wish to disable the automatic switch; you can always switch to the CodeCollaborator perspective by clicking the toolbar button in the top right of the review editor.
Tip: To activate a review and open the review editor in one step, hold the Shift key while clicking the activate icon next to the review in the task list.
When you activate a review, the context of files and code elements you access while performing the review will be tracked. You can choose to share this context with other participants in the review by attaching it to the review. When you activate a review for the first time, if someone (e.g. the creator of the review) has attached a context, you will be prompted to retrieve it automatically.
To share your context, right click on the review in the Task List and select Context > Attach. To retrieve the context attached by someone else, right click on the review in the Task List and select Context > Retrieve. The server stores only the most recently attached context for the review.
When you create a review, if you already have a task active, you will be prompted to attach the context of the task and its URL to the code review so that the reviewers will have access to them. When reviewers activate the code review, the attached context will be retrieved. The attached URL will appear in the Links section of the Tasktop tab in the review editor.
The Tasktop tab in the review editor contains a shared Links section where review participants can put tasks and web pages related to the review. After you add or remove links, click Submit Links to share your changes with the other review participants; if you have checked Attach Context, your context for the review will also be attached, overwriting any previously shared context for that review.
