Queries - Bringing your ClearQuest change requests into the Task List

A query is the primary means to get ClearQuest change requests into the Task List. Add a new query by clicking the New drop down in the Task List toolbar (or right clicking in the Task List view) and selecting New > Query. Choose the ClearQuest repository you just created when prompted to choose a repository. Upon selecting a ClearQuest repository and clicking Next, you are presented with a choise of which kind of ClearQuest query to create: one based on server side named queries, or one based on criteria you choose from a list attributes of the chosen type.

Named Queries

Named queries are server side queries that can be brought into your personal Task List. Select this option and navigate the available named queries on the ClearQuest repository. Choose the query you wish to have in your task list and click the Finish button. The query is added to your Task List and matching tasks appear nested under that query.

Custom Queries

To create a custom query, select the option from the Query Type Select dialog and press Next. In the subsequent wizard page, enter a title for the query and choose the ClearQuest type you wish to query over. From the available attributes, pick values to define the query criteria and press Finish.

The new query will appear in the Task List and the change requests matching the query criteria will appear nested under the query in the Task List.
