Share Tasks, Simply

Tasktop Live (Beta) is a service that allows you to share and collaborate with others without the need of a common task repository. Tasktop Live (Beta) is as simple as using email but provided better task management.  You use the task to track, discuss, assign, prioritize, and share documents instead of scattering that information throughout your email inbox.

Getting Started

To get started with Tasktop Live (Beta) you'll need to first activate Tasktop Live (Beta).  To activate Tasktop Live (Beta) select the home icon in the toolbar and then select Activate Tasktop Live (Beta).  Once this step is done you can create new Tasktop Live (Beta) tasks and share your local tasks.  Additionally, Tasktop will be configured to automatically download any new tasks that have been shared with you by others (see Tracking Your Tasks).

Adding Collaborators

Sharing tasks is as easy as including a CC in an email.  Tasktop Live (Beta) allows you to share both local and Tasktop Live (Beta) tasks. As with an email, only the owner and the CCs of a task can view that task.  When you share your first task with another user they will be asked to accept you as a collaborator (via email).  This one-time confirmation ensures that users only share tasks with willing collaborators.

To share a local task expand the new "Sharing" section and add people to the CC field.  Then hit the "Share Button" and the task will be shared with your collaborator.

To share a Tasktop Live (Beta) task add people to the CC field in the new "Sharing" section.  Then hit the "Submit" button and the task will be shared with your collaborator.

Tracking Your Tasks

Tasktop Live (Beta) automatically downloads and tracks tasks that you are interested in.  Upon installing Tasktop Live (Beta) you will see tasks assigned to you in the "Tasks Mine" category in your task list. Tasks where you are not the owner but are a CC will show up in "Tasks - Others".  These queries will automatically update, downloading any new tasks that were shared with you by others.
